Competition Report
28th June: BFC had a strong presence at the West Midlands Regional Championships in Much Wenlock and picked up a 1-2 in the Mens Foil. One of our newly qualified referees also had his first experience with competition refereeing.
Social Events
The annual summer BBQ at Mike & Joan's house is in the evening on 19th July, after the BFC beginners' competition. The cost for this will be £3 and guests are welcome.
New Referee Qualification
1st June: Members of BFC attended a Referee Workshop organised by Norman Randall and East Midlands Fencing. The day was enjoyed by all as a valuable insight into the role of the referee, and also as an occasion to meet people from other clubs from across the country.
The day also included level 3 and 4 theory and practical tests, and we now have five new county or regional level referees. Congratulations all, and thank you Norman!

Birmingham International Fencing Tournament 2008
