Upcoming Competitions
The Warwickshire Senior County Championships are the 26th and 27th June this year. See the organisers' web site for more details, or download the entry form.
The club has also received an invitation to an International Tournament in Hérouville Saint-Clair, France, on the 12th and 13th of June. Find the entry form and contact details here.
Coaching Qualifications
Mike Whitehouse, BFC director of coaching and an England Fencing Coach Educator ran a second coach education course in early 2010. Our congratulations to all the newly qualified coaches that completed the course. We would also like to express our thanks to Birmingham Sports Council for a grant towards coach education in 2010.
Summer Competition and BBQ
This event for fencers new to competition is followed by our annual BBQ (indoors or out, depending on the weather)! For this, David's minted lamb burgers are legendary, and Joan's allotment provides fresh produce for scrummy puddings! More details closer to the time.
Clubmark Certification
A lot of work is being put in behind the scenes to ready the club for Clubmark. Our thanks to all those involved in this important activity.
Competition Updates
BFC has been strongly represented at a number of competitions over recent weeks, including the Crystal team competition and the West Midlands Senior Championships.
We would like to thank the organisers for giving up their weekends to run these events, which provided us with a lot of competitive fencing!
Social Events
Plans are afoot for a delayed end-of-year event in January or February, and suggestions for this are welcome. Contact David with any ideas.

If you are thinking of attending a competition but don't have transport, please ask one of the coaches as there is probably a club member who can give you a lift.
Birmingham International Fencing Tournament 2009
